According to new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a clemency request for consideration by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a whistleblower provided information indicating Maxwell is working on the commutation application. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, stated in a official statement that the facility's chief was “helping” the convict with document preparation and submission to aid her effort for clemency.

The exact content of the “commutation application” remain unknown, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, per the insider, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are hand-delivered to her cell, and the warden has individually organized exclusive visits for Maxwell and her guests.

The visits reportedly involve a designated private space for attendees and a variety of food and drinks for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and chance of unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other inmates, she was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to contact and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The whistleblower further reportedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she reportedly employed the official as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The news release indicates that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the supervisor, who would provide them to the inmate, for her to examine and change and return them to the warden to scan and provide to the initial correspondent.

Extra Benefits Alleged

Other privileges reportedly provided to her include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

Through a spokesperson, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, pardoning the convict is not something he has thought about,” the spokesperson noted.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, it was reported that she told close associates in emails from prison that she was “much happier” at the Texas facility than her former location.

In August, she was transferred from a low-security prison in Tallahassee, Florida to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most detainees are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also previously served as Donald Trump's private attorney.

That interview came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid widespread conjecture around the President's own connections to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in 2019 while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, Raskin also announced that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and urged the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any form of clemency to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” the representative stated in the document. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with government agents attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

Raskin requested that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to the President.

Raskin asked whether Trump had talked about a potential commutation for the convict with the official or others, whether he had instructed him or anyone else to arrange her with the transfer or special conditions in prison, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, relatives or agents have made any promises to the President or his legal team.

The representative requested for a reply to the inquiries by the specified date.

Last month, the nation's highest court rejected an petition from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
